WHY WE ARE

service2

C-xO.org is a break-away division of C-xO.com. Strongly rooted from our original foundation in Durban South Africa to our various interests around the world. In our travels and business ventures, we came across many communities in need, much like our own in Durban. Our founders had a strong sense of giving back to the community and we are a consequence of that service. We now aim to support not just street kids on Durban beach front, but at least in a few cities around the globe. From Uruguay to India, Dijibouti to Mauritius and back. Our vision is currently beyond our reach, we have a serious lack of resources and funds to achieve it, but hey that is what a vision is about right. Since we are at the beginning of our NGO journey, we are still setting up and have started informally with the local communities around the areas of our business operations. You have so many options. So it depends on what is close to your heart.

OUR INTERESTS

We focus heavily on street child welfare and we have some special projects on this as well. Please donate to us for these. Please also contact us if you would like to tailor a corporate donor solution and to be a C-xO.org longer-term partner.

Kids ONLINE BUSINESS PLATFORM PROJECT

Papa had a dream 30 years ago, to open the world's first online business platform for kids, out of Mauritius, that could be a place for kids and homeless people's informal businesses could easily get on to from accessible cell phones, and load their products on for trade. This is project aims to make that dream a reality and to build an app that incorporates the right levels of compliance to governments regulations and the handling of children's private information as well as incorporating the right structures of consent where applicable. A lot of funds here go to developers, regulatory and legal counsel, fixed monthly costs. We plan on having a paid component to fund the monthly costs.

Goal: 200000$

DURBAN BEACHFRONT STREET KIDS PROJECT

As a founding father of our holding company, Rave spent most of his life on Durban's beach front, a stretch of surf that earns the title "the golden mile". On a daily basis he gave money to the homeless on the beachfront to buy milk, bread and shelter, even from a time when he did not have much himself. Many people on the beachfront held him in very high regard and was saddened by his loss a few years back. This fund aims to continue his legacy of doing what one can, with what one barely has. This fund aims to set up a shelter in Durban in his name.

Raised: 589000$
Goal: 1550000$

CLEAN WATER BACKPACKING PROJECT

This very large scale project started off as an idea to run out of Lesotho in 2010 but soon became a project that could benefit people on a global scale in making drinking water more accessible. Ten years of sunk costs, research and development, our founders ran a significant loss keeping the project alive, and it came to a halt. The vision was to develop a product, process trademarks and a worldwide patent on a newly engineered exoskeleton device that could make backpack desalination real and affordable to masses living near coastlines. Our founders called it the REC "rocket engine coffee" backpack machine for some reason. A start-up private company that planned to deliver 5 factories and a million backpacks, later abandoned. Donations trickled in and this project remains a long term goal for C-xO.org. If anyone or organisation is willing to assist, we can meet and discuss the designs and detailed costing required to be met. The pilot, once viable, will run in Dijibouti, Uruguay, India, Mozambique and South Africa.
